Linh Buu
Co-President
Linh is currently a third-year student at Yale, studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) as a member of Saybrook College. She serves as one of the co-presidents of YMPO for the current year, where she is deeply committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for pre-health students. Having been actively involved with YMPO since her first year, Linh has found it to be an incredible opportunity to connect with like-minded peers who share a passion for the health sciences and to engage with the broader pre-health community at Yale.
Beyond her leadership in YMPO, Linh is deeply engaged in her academic studies, where she is working toward a degree in MCDB. She is fascinated by the complexities of biological systems and hopes to use her scientific background to one day contribute to advancements in healthcare. Outside of her academic and leadership roles, Linh enjoys exploring new ways to improve community outreach and is dedicated to helping others navigate their academic and career journeys in the health sciences. Her time at Yale has been marked by a deep commitment to service and making a tangible impact in the lives of her peers, and she looks forward to continuing this work during her time as co-president of YMPO.
Johnny Que
Co-President
Johnny is currently a third-year student at Yale, majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB). He serves as one of the co-presidents of Yale Medical Professions Outreach (YMPO) this year and previously held the role of podcast coordinator, where he helped launch conversations centered around student experiences and healthcare topics.
Johnny is passionate about building a strong and welcoming community for pre-health students at Yale. Through his involvement in YMPO since his early years on campus, he has found a meaningful space to connect with peers who share similar goals and to support others navigating the pre-med journey. As co-president, he is excited to continue expanding YMPO’s presence on campus and foster an environment of collaboration, mentorship, and shared learning.
Joelly Cortes
Mentoring and Internships Coordinator
Joelly is currently a senior at Grace Hopper College, where she has become an integral part of the campus community. Originally from Houston, Texas, she is pursuing a major in Neuroscience, a field that reflects her deep interest in the brain and human behavior. Throughout her time at Yale, Joelly has developed a passion for mentorship and leadership, currently serving as a mentorship coordinator for the Yale Medical Professions Outreach (YMPO) program. Her journey with YMPO began in her sophomore year when she took the initiative to launch the organization’s podcast.
Outside of academics and her professional ambitions, Joelly leads a dynamic and active lifestyle. She is a competitive powerlifter, a discipline that requires dedication, strength, and mental resilience. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Joelly has a love for cooking, often experimenting with new recipes and sharing meals with friends. She also enjoys reading, particularly works related to psychology, neuroscience, and personal development. Looking toward the future, Joelly plans to attend medical school next year, where she hopes to combine her academic background in neuroscience with her passion for helping others
Dimitro Ivanov
Shadowing and Experiences Coordinator
Dimitri Ivanov is a sophomore in Benjamin Franklin College studying Chemical Engineering. A proud Texan, he has a deep love for science and discovery, which began with research on nucleic acid therapeutics and now extends into exploring the role of policy in driving innovation and national security.
When he’s not immersed in debates with the Yale Political Union or grappling with engineering problem sets, Dimitri loves adventuring with friends, playing squash, and diving into his newfound passion for scuba diving off Long Island. He’s always eager to explore new experiences, whether it’s a hobby, a philosophical rabbit hole, or a spontaneous road trip.
Jeremy Chen
Events and Outreach Coordinator
Jeremy is a second-year student at Yale from Tustin, California, majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB). As a member of Yale Medical Professions Outreach (YMPO), he is excited to contribute to strengthening engagement between pre-health communities across campus and to help foster a more connected and collaborative environment for students pursuing careers in healthcare.
Jeremy is passionate about the intersection of science and service, and he values the opportunity YMPO provides to support fellow students navigating the pre-health journey. Through his involvement this year, he hopes to create more accessible pathways for students to connect with valuable resources, mentorship, and one another.
Outside of academics and YMPO, Jeremy enjoys folding origami and discovering new music. He looks forward to bringing both creativity and enthusiasm to his role in YMPO as he continues to explore his interests in the biological sciences and the broader field of medicine.
Ramy Triki
Co-Podcast Coordinator
Ramy Triki (he/him) is a freshman from Dallas, Texas, pursuing a major in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-med track. With a strong passion for promoting diversity and equity in healthcare, both in the U.S. and abroad, Ramy is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices in the medical field. He serves as a coordinator for YMPO’s podcast The Med, where he works to highlight the achievements and insights of accomplished individuals from diverse backgrounds, aiming to inspire and motivate the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Outside of his academic and leadership roles, Ramy is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new cultures and broadening his global perspective. He’s also a competitive tennis player, constantly challenging himself on the court, and is working toward his goal of learning to play the piano. As he navigates his freshman year at Yale, Ramy is excited to continue pursuing his academic and personal passions while contributing to initiatives that foster greater diversity and inclusion in the healthcare sector.
Isabel Koh
Co-President
Isabel Koh is a senior at Davenport College, majoring in Chemistry. She currently serves as one of the Co-Presidents of the Yale Medical and Pre-Health Organization (YMPO). In this capacity, Isabel is dedicated to fostering connections between students and the healthcare community, with a particular focus on creating shadowing opportunities in partnership with Yale New Haven Hospital. Her commitment to supporting pre-health students is evident in her work to expand clinical exposure opportunities, helping her peers gain firsthand experience in medical settings.
Beyond her academic and extracurricular pursuits, Isabel has a passion for maintaining a balanced lifestyle. She enjoys working out and finds baking to be a relaxing and creative outlet. As she approaches her final semester at Yale, Isabel is excited to continue her work with YMPO, contributing to the professional growth of aspiring healthcare professionals while also reflecting on her own experiences at Yale.
Mia Pineda
Secretary
Mia is a junior at Yale, studying Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) as a member of Ezra Stiles College. She currently serves as the secretary of YMPO, where she is committed to supporting and fostering a welcoming community for pre-health students. Passionate about veterinary medicine, Mia hopes to use her scientific background to advance animal healthcare and contribute to the field in meaningful ways.
Beyond her role in YMPO, Mia is deeply engaged in her academic studies, exploring the intricate mechanisms that govern biological systems. She is particularly interested in the intersection of molecular biology and veterinary science and looks forward to applying her knowledge in clinical and research settings.
Outside of her academic and leadership commitments, Mia enjoys unwinding with movies and games and is always open to recommendations. She values the sense of community and shared passion that YMPO provides and looks forward to continuing her involvement in the organization throughout her time at Yale.
Will Caraccio
Mentoring and Internships Coordinator
Will is a Senior at Berkeley College hailing from California, currently on the pre-medical track but with strong aspirations to earn a degree in the Humanities. He has always been passionate about integrating science with broader cultural and philosophical perspectives, and he hopes to pursue a career that combines both. Outside of his academic pursuits, Will is deeply involved in a variety of extracurricular activities at Yale. He is a member of the Yale Marimba Band, where he finds both creativity and community through music, and he is actively engaged in immunology research, exploring cutting-edge topics in the field. Additionally, Will volunteers as a Spanish medical translator at Yale New Haven Health, working to bridge the communication gap between patients and medical professionals, and fostering inclusivity in healthcare.
Through his work with YMPO, Will seeks to create a supportive and collaborative environment for pre-medical students at Yale, emphasizing mentorship, personal growth, and shared experiences. He’s passionate about helping students navigate the often overwhelming pre-med track and ensuring they feel part of a close-knit, encouraging community.
Kate Estevez
Public Relations
Kate Estevez is a sophomore in Timothy Dwight College, majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology with plans to pursue a career in medicine. Passionate about both science and service, Kate currently serves as the Public Relations Chair for the Yale Medical and Pre-Health Organization (YMPO), where she helps manage communications and outreach. Additionally, she volunteers at Yale New Haven Hospital, gaining hands-on experience in the healthcare field while contributing to her community.
Beyond her academic and pre-health pursuits, Kate has a creative side that she nurtures through her involvement in the arts. She is a photographer for the Yale College Arts Productions, where she captures moments from a variety of performances, as well as for the Yale Schwartzman Center. Kate’s diverse interests allow her to blend her scientific aspirations with her passion for creative expression, and she looks forward to continuing to grow both in the STEM field and beyond.
Abby Trejo

Abby Trejo is a sophomore from Chicago, IL, and is currently double majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) and Psychology, with plans to pursue a career in medicine. As a dedicated pre-med student, Abby is excited to be a member of the Yale Medical and Pre-Health Organization (YMPO) board, where she is particularly thrilled to serve as one of the podcast hosts for the year. Through her role, she looks forward to connecting with fellow students and sharing valuable insights about the pre-med journey.
Beyond her academic and extracurricular work with YMPO, Abby is deeply involved in the arts and the community. She directs theater productions, volunteers at HAVEN and Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH), and serves as a tour guide, helping prospective students get a feel for life at Yale. Abby is passionate about engaging with diverse aspects of campus life, and she can’t wait for everyone to hear the podcast, which she hopes will be both informative and inspiring for her peers.
